hmmm...measles is a good one to have actually, esp. since we've got lots of silly parents just now not getting their kids immunised!

the med school seems to like adding 'hot topics' on, our year were the first to get influenza added on to the asthma PBL.

Influenza is a good one though, since we would probably get drafted in if there was a bird flu outbreak.

Ha, definitely never done shingles... If that crops up for us them I'll be waving good bye to the wrong side of 12 marks... :-)

I don't think we got flu on our asthma PBL either, they tagged it with atopy!! Unless we visit asthma again in 2nd year which no doubt we will...

ah yes Asthma is a biggy somewhere in 2nd yr - not helped by the fact that they just stick flu into the same scenario (and were not talking "whats the signs and symptoms of flu" here either lol) did you ever want to know exactly what "H5N1" means? no, nor did i.

It seems a little weird to spend loads of money teaching med students how to do the job of a pharmacologist, but obviously this is spoken without the ability to see the big picture.

Don't think 2nd year has changed that much by the sounds of it! And I think it was my mistake, for measles read mumps. Seems I was paying attention in 1st year PBL...

Hmmm, maybe some revision required!

I can't remember 1st year and it was only a few months ago for me!! Mind I'm old and have an excuse for alzheimers...

MMR was covered but not measles and rubella in any detail, at least my group didn't at any rate. Although that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have...
