I've just got back from my Glasgow interview. Two guys interviewed me and were quite friendly. (only quite, mind). I wasn't asked any ethical questions, so in that respect I was quite lucky.

However, they tried really hard to unnerve me. One of them kept cutting me off, while the other kept pushing me to say more, his favourite question being WHY DO YOU WANT TO DO MEDICINE?
After I answered, he went on about the bad publicity doctors have had recently, suggested that it isn't such a good career choice and asked why I didn't use my 5 A's to go and do the 'easiest job in the world' - whatever that is.

Anyway, apart from that, it was a fair interview and they even asked me if there was anything they hadn't covered that I wanted to tell them. I just talked about some of my 'teamwork' hobbies.

Just thought I'd share my experience with you all!

A day later, I think I can appreciate what the interviewers were doing. They were actually really fair. They were pushing me but I think what they really want to know is how you cope under pressure and if you are really committed to Medicine.

Let's just hope I gave them a good impression!

yeah, l think from my Aberdeen interview l would say the same. Although the interviews didn't appear as though they were trying to un-nerve me, they asked alot of questions in relation to committment to the course. The questions were very slick, so l guess they like you to know what you're talking about!

I could say the same about my Glasgow interview but they went relatively easy on me I think (well it didnt seem to bad anyway!!!)

They did question my commitment to medicine because i'm that wee bit older than the school leaving applicants, and also if i thought i could work in groups ok with people who were younger than me.

They were very interested in the work experience factor though!!!
