You may have to try south of Hadrian's Wall. The English Medical Schools accept people after a one year access course, for example. Try UEA in Norwich - as I understand it, they have a course which is graduate entry only.

You wouldn't happen to know a guy called Rab Douglas who did Aero Eng (and RAF) at Glasgow, he would have been a year behind you.
I'm not sure too many people here will be able to answer your question, think most had 2:1. There is no harm in phoning and asking universities personally though, can seem daunting I know but worth the effort and you can let us know how you get on for future people in your shoes. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you're highers (way back then lol) may still play an important role you know. If I'm not mistaken Aero Eng in Glasgow requires good highers - is that a possibility to explore?

As damien says, it doesn't hurt to phone up the admissions office and ask. It may well go in your favour that you are making yourself known to them and hsowing that you DO really want on the course. I don't honestly know what grades my postgrad mates at glasgow got in their previous degrees, so I couldnt tell you if i know anyone with a 2.2 who was accepted.
Phone up the office and they can only say no at the very worst.

Rab douglas....Yea the name rings a bell, iv probably dome a lab with the guy or somethin...
Yea aeros pretty difficult to get onto (And well tough!)too so hoping med schools will acknowledge its not the same as an arts degree. Iv spoken with admissions of universities and im finding some tell me to beat it and others are not given me a straight answer and directing me down the route of an access course which I plan to do. As I said glasgow is my first choice but il go anywhere to achieve my goal....

Currently, only 14 of the 30 med. schools in Britain do graduate courses * The Insiders' Guide to UK Medical Schools 2005/2006 - Burgess, Girgis, Hebert* all south of the border.
Barts - 2:1 Science Degree
Birmingham - 2:1 Life Sciences Degree
Bristol - 2:1 and BBB *A-levels that is.. don't know what the equivalent is in Highers*
Cambridge - 2:1 or above
Derby - 2:2 Bachelors degree or better or higher degree (Masters or PhD) in lieu of a first degree. All aplicants are required to sit GAMSAT
GKT - 2:1
Leicester - 2:1 in health science discipline
Liverpool - CCC and 2:1 degree in life sciences or health sciences
Newcastle/ Durham - 2:1 degree
Nottingham - no info
Oxford - 2:1 or better; GPA above 3.5; 2 science A-levels (including Chem)
St George's - 2:2 in any subject
Southampton -2:1 in any discipline
Warwick - 2:1 Biological Sciences Degree
This is all subject to change of course, but was correct at the time of this book being printed. Best of luck!

thanks a lot! dont intend to apply straight to unis as a graduate as i got to get my sciences up to scratch. Access it is I think. think the fact I done a non science degree may be a good thing tho as there seems to be loads of graduates with science degrees applying to medicine. Just have to hope the admissions people realise I may have something different to offer...

Just have to hope the admissions people realise I may have something different to offer...There are people on admissions committees who consider that life experience is valuable - so, all the best.
