in first year at glasgow you have pbl on a monday and a thursday, in either a 9-11, 12-2 or 3-5 timeslot depending on if your in group a,b or c (you change slot every term) and you'll have vocational studies (VS) on either a tuesday or a wednesday. lectures are normally on a friday and labs are spread throughout the week.

time spent on pbl depends on the pbl, what questions your group generates and on you personally, i know people who get it all done that day and some who do it over the 3 or the weekend and some who do it the day before.

first year pbl's take a few hours per scenario but again it depend son what the scenario is etc.

hope this helps!

luv'n'hugs

The glasgow uni timetable is different from alot of the others since it changes every week, the only things that are definate and remain unchanged is PBL and VS. We usually have quite alot of free time on the timetable, but this si really used by most people to do PBL. Like emma said above everybody has different ways of doing pbl and learning, Im one of these people that usually does it over the 3 days........and depending on how big it is usually never finish it until easter hols ;)

yeah, i spend most of the "free time" doing PBL in the study landscape (or having numerous lunches) so don't believe the people who say that we have it so easy in glasgow, cos we actually don't. it is a lot harder than i thought it was going to be, but u get used to it quickly and you can stay on top of the work. i heard 2nd year is a totally different story though. lol ;)

it is a lot harder than i thought it was going to beStephenthat's one of the problems when it comes to telling people about life at university, etc. - so much depends on what they were expecting.

I agree with Stephen, its not what I expected, the amount of 'free time' is phenominal compared to, well everything i had experienced before. Thats one thing about Glasgow, you have to be able to manage your time very well.........not all of us have managed to do it yet, as could be seen at my last PBL when we just all started laughing when our facilitator told us to start (coursework got in the way, kinda! :lol )

i think that was the same in every group. i did a lot of nodding and saying stuff like "yeah, i agree" and that.
