Hi Everyone :D

Are there any items I should buy before going to uni like a dissection kit, stethoscope etc or is that unnecessary?

Thanks for the sarcasm there Ken. But I probably already know all the cheesy chat up lines there are but as for the alcohol, I wonder if they allow wine racks in the student's rooms?

I don't know what you'll need at aberdeen, but I got:

3 lab coats (just get 2. And trust me, you'll want a separate coat for dissection and lots of deodorant to de-stink it afterwards)

1 disection kit

1 stethoscope (buy it through Med-Chir if you're gonna need one, but if you don't do clinical skills in first year you won't need it)

1 tendon hammer (and I NEVER used it, but they insisted I would....)

Wine racks in your room??? As long as it is not the expensive stuff. When you start, you will realise that paying four quid for the bottle of Grants vodka (very cheap and nasty) has the same effect as the twelve quid smirnoff vodka - just as drunk and terrible hangover. And wee bit of advice, don't start drinking at 11am - not good on the wallet or the head (exception only after an exam). I blame my gran's motto - 'work hard and play hard'
Hope you enjoy Aberdeen uni - with its coldness and sheep
See ya
